Biotechnology Laboratory

  • The main purpose of establishing this laboratory is to educate undergraduate students in current       biotechnological and life sciences concepts and methodologies.
  • The biotechnology laboratory is fully equipped with all fundamental facilities (i.e. DNA/ RNA/ protein analyses,    tissue culture and microbiology) to provide students with hands-on experience in all facets of modern        advancements in science.
  • The PCR machine, DNA quantification equipment, advanced Polyacrylamide Gel Electrophoresis Unit and     Western Blotting apparatus are the most prominent facilities in this laboratory, which enable the students to       venture into new avenues of biotechnology with creativity.
  • From simple DNA extractions, up to the most complicated Recombinant DNA Technology research work can be       pursued in the laboratory under the guidance of the skilled and supportive academic staff.

Research Laboratory

  • The research laboratory is the most advanced, state-of-the-art research facility in the Department of Nano        Science Technology.
  • The laboratory houses multiple characterisation tools, such as X-ray Diffraction (XRD), Fourier Transfer Infrared      Gas Chromatography, Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA) etc., which ascertains high-level research outputs and       allows the undergraduates/postgraduates to obtain the technical know-how of each instrument.
  • The laboratory enhances capabilities in nanoparticle synthesis, chemical structure elucidation and many other        aspects of material science and engineering.

Computer Science Laboratory

  • In the computer science laboratory, the students are allowed to harness computer-related skills including        programming, software development, computer aided design (CAD) and statistical analyses.
  • The laboratory is fully equipped with all the necessary software and superior functionality to ensure a         comfortable and efficient learning experience.

Electronics Laboratory

  • The electronics laboratory is where the students will be given hands-on experience on the Fundamentals of        Nano-Electronics, Analogue Electronics, Digital Electronics, and Electrical & Magnetic Properties of Materials.
  • The laboratory offers a multitude of instruments pertaining to electronics related studies and provides ample        space to conduct the practical sessions for approximately 100 students at once.
